Yeah, i thought so too. But i think it suits the Buffy/Angel situation very good. Her nightmare had only begun when he lost his soul and if i had to interpret it, she was fond "of the sun" as in meaning fond of his ostensible perfection. She'd never imagined what hides under the outward appearrance.
Angelus wasn't really after her, he was after her soul,("her nectar") after the torture. Her soul calls him, calls the man inside him in her dreams because Buffy views her relationship with Angel until that moment as dreamy. Forever is the word which she longs but we all know that forever doesn't exist and doesn't last for ever. Only death lasts forever so it "would be beautiful if she were dead" because she can live that dream she never could on earth.
Rants are fine... I got everything... made perfect sense to me and I did get a lot of that out of the poem when I read it. You picked a very good poem for them.
